Reasons For God’s Concern For Our Diet
In order for a person to be fully oriented to the diet that conforms to the biblical aspects, it is important for us to first get a clearer picture of it.
It may not be clear right away that our diet and health is a primary concern for God but it is. There are some reasons why God is concerned about our diet. The reasons for God’s concern for our health are such as; He loves us and wishes for our wellbeing, His communication to us is through our brain, He is our maker and regards us as His children and because our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
God’s love for us is evident in the numerous verses of the bible that show this such as; 1 John 4:19 “We love Him because He first loved us.” Therefore through His love, He would want what is best for us in this case being our diet.
It is directly proportional in how the brain works in relation to the food that we eat. Good eating is essential when it comes to having good communication with God and this is where the good diet comes in to give us good clarity and well-functioning brains that are ready to receive whatever God is communicating to us and has planned for us. In eating healthy it becomes easier for one to answer God’s calling and understand His word better. Unhealthy eating is often associated by many temptations and shortcomings which may attract the influence of the devil and deter the person from following what is right.
God is also concerned about our diet because He is our creator and regards us as His children in which a parent would only wish the best for His children. His love for us as our maker and us is creation is evident in bible verses such as; “And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, said the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18.
When it comes to consideration of the diet, we also have to consider that our bodies are the temple of the holy spirit and therefore should be well taken care of an also serves as another reason why God is concerned about our diet and wellbeing. The body should be used in a way that glorifies God in every way.
The diet that was prominent in the beginning was a plant diet and then allowance was made for vegetables as is the case in the garden of Eden. The diet continued to diversify and after the flood, there was introduction of flesh foods to the diet. After the introduction of eating of flesh foods, there was some conditions that were set for this purpose.
